Phased Studio

Phased is a time and profitability tracker for architects, designers, and other freelancers who work on fixed-fee projects.

Most time trackers are built around hourly billing. They tell you how many hours you worked, but that is only half the story when the client agreed to a fixed price upfront.

Phased connects the time you track with the budget you originally planned. Projects can be divided into phases, each with its own budget and target rate, so you can see where the time is going and which part of a project is starting to run over.

As you work, Phased shows how much of the budget has been used, how many safe hours remain, and the effective hourly rate the fixed fee is currently producing. Budget warnings highlight phases that are approaching or already over budget, so you can react while the project is still active instead of discovering the problem at the end.

Completed projects also become useful for future pricing. You can see what the work actually earned per hour and which phases took more time than expected, helping you make better estimates on similar projects next time.

When a client asks for work that was not part of the original agreement, those entries can be marked Out of scope and tracked separately. This helps distinguish between an estimate that was too low and genuine scope creep. Additional work can also be priced separately and shown clearly on client reports.

Time can be tracked directly on a weekly calendar, with a timer, or by adding entries manually. Projects can contain phases, tasks, and clients, and reusable templates make recurring types of work faster to set up.

Client-ready Phase, Project, and Time Reports are generated from the same tracked data. Reports are saved as versions, so later project changes do not alter a report you already approved or sent. Pro reports can include your studio name, logo, client details, agreed fees, and Additional Work.

Phased is deliberately built for one person. There are no team seats, roles, admin consoles, or shared logins. It focuses on project tracking, budgets, scope, profitability, and reporting rather than accounting or invoicing.

The Free plan has no time limit and no card required. Every new account also includes a 30-day trial of Pro. Pro costs €7 per month or €66 per year.

Data is hosted in Europe, full exports are available on both plans, there are no ads, and workspace content is not used to train AI models.
