PilcrowMD

PilcrowMD opens .md, .markdown and .txt files and renders them the way they were meant to look - serif typography, a warm dark theme, and spacing tuned for reading long documents on a phone rather than for editing code.

It covers full CommonMark and GitHub-Flavored Markdown: tables, task lists, strikethrough, syntax-highlighted code blocks, LaTeX math, YAML front matter, and footnotes. Wide tables and code scroll sideways instead of breaking the page. There is an in-document search with highlighted matches, an auto-generated table of contents, and per-file scroll memory.

A source editor sits behind a toggle, with syntax highlighting, line numbers and undo/redo. Saving writes back exactly what you wrote - no silent reformatting, no half-written files.

It is native and works offline: no browser engine, no analytics, no account, and no ads. The only network feature is optional Mermaid diagram rendering, which is off by default and sends the diagram source to the mermaid.ink service when enabled. Released under GPL-3.0-or-later.
