Very intuitive and flexible to query REST APIs
I used to like this product for getting some quick API testing done, but it's been crippled so much recently that it basically forces you to log in to do even the most basic stuff.
I used the free version, and in a recent forced update it became useless: all my collections disappeared, and without an account (not tested, my organization blocks the registration page) Postman only offers a sandbox so it's not possible to organize one's requests. Insomnia has because useless in the exact same way. That's what it is to become dependent on a supplier.
It used to be good. Now it forced auto-updates, AI, cloud accounts and regularly deletes user data. Avoid at all cost, unless you can find version 6 and avoid updating.
It is unacceptable to remove user data.
Was great but they now hold your data hostage. Opened the app one day and there had been an update that now locks all your local projects, collection, secrets, etc behind a cloud account. You cannot get to your configuration anymore unless you create a cloud account. Huge dick move by the company and I will not support that kind of behaviour. Looking for alternatives now.
The free version became useless after a forced update with all my work lost. Maybe creating an account allows keeping it, but it's blocked by my employer. For those with simple needs, the free version was nice and the Pro version is way too expensive.
Free version not recommended anymore for those who are part of a team/organization. In section 2.3, it says that "if you are agreeing to these Terms not as an individual but on behalf of your company, government, or other entity for which you are acting (for example, as an employee or government official) then "you" means your entity and you are binding your entity to these Terms. If you do not have such authority or if you do not agree with these Terms, do not accept these Terms and do not use the Services.".
