RotorCrypt X

RotorCrypt X is a native Windows encryption application built on three completely independent cryptographic layers — all three would have to be broken simultaneously for any attack to succeed.

The first layer is a modernized rotor cipher: 50 rotors, the full Unicode range of 65,536 characters, creating a keyspace of over 10²⁴⁰ possible states. The second layer is AES-256-GCM — battle-tested, proven over decades of real-world use, and the same encryption standard trusted by the US military itself. The third layer is Perfect Forward Secrecy via HKDF-SHA3-256 — a new key for every single message, discarded the instant it's used.

Security starts before the first message is even sent: the initial key exchange between two contacts is protected against man-in-the-middle attacks, so no one can quietly insert themselves into the connection while it's being established. Your password itself is hardened with Argon2id at 256 MB per attempt, making brute-force attacks on even the most powerful GPU clusters impractical.

Auto-Lock now comes fully configurable — you decide exactly how long the app can sit idle before it locks itself. Miss that window ten times with the wrong password, and RotorCrypt X doesn't just lock you out — it wipes itself completely, overwriting all data to the DoD 5220.22-M military standard. Nothing left to recover, not even for a forensics lab.
