What is Russet?

Russet is an AI companion for iPhone and iPad devices. It runs chats on your device, ensuring privacy and independence from external servers. It doesn't require accounts, advertisements, or tracking. It uses local AI models for offline functioning and allows integration of OpenAI API key for cloud models like GPT-5.1 and GPT-5 mini.

The software features Flow, a tool for quick chatting, reading, and writing. It also manages Calendar, Contacts, Files, and Health data offline. It includes an offline text-based adventure game.

Russet uses intelligent Templates for initiating conversations. It provides briefings based on your calendar events, reads PDFs dropped into the chat, and answers queries. All files stay on your device.

You can customize its responses and secure chats using on-device biometrics. The Flow feature can summarize, label, debate, translate, or rewrite text offline.

Russet's interface is designed for privacy, focus, and flow. It supports 13 languages and works offline. It requires Apple Intelligence but allows optional OpenAI API key for cloud models.
