It is VERY useful and highly recommended!
Shutter does not work with a wayland desktop. That's not the sole fault of the project, but I still rank them down for suggesting to switch to an X11 environment in 2024. Here's the relevant ticket: https://github.com/shutter-project/shutter/issues/187
My favorite screenshot tool on Linux, glad to see the website and updates are back!
So this app looks like it is back from the previously mentioned "dead". I have not spent a lot of time with it but it looks promising.
Excellent tool for making screenshots on-the-fly. Lots of configurable settings, post-editing capabilities, uploading sources, and plugins. The only disadvantage - it doesn't support the entire page screenshot (like in Nimbus), only visible part of the screen. Also, it would be nice to have Shutter for Windows.
It looks like the software is dead - it is not possible to access the web site
You can easily install it straight through linux; I used the software manager.
The official website is available but actually, it is far easier to install Shutter using the command line or package manager.
Shutter is not dead. development continues the launcpad. https://launchpad.net/shutter
It has tons of features, and is just a breeze to effectively use. I can't see myself needing or wanting anything else for capturing images of my screen.
