What is StreamWriter Studio?
StreamWriter Studio is a native macOS app for recording internet radio and building your own music library from the stations you already listen to. Add any radio stream, hit record, and the app captures it in the background around the clock. Using the stream's metadata it automatically detects when one song ends and the next begins, saving each track as its own clean file — tagged with artist, title and real album artwork, neatly sorted into your library.
Beyond radio, StreamWriter Studio can search and save YouTube videos as MP3, organize everything into playlists, and trim tracks to the second in its built-in waveform editor. It runs entirely locally on your Mac — no account and no tracking — and is built natively for Apple Silicon (and Intel).
The classic "StreamWriter" only ever existed on Windows; StreamWriter Studio is the native equivalent for macOS (an independent app, not affiliated with the Windows program of the same name).
