What is talat?

talat captures your microphone and system audio during meetings, transcribes both sides of the conversation in real time, and produces searchable, editable notes. It separates speakers as it records and recognises familiar voices from one meeting to the next. Transcription, speaker labelling and storage are all on-device: your audio never leaves your machine and your transcripts don't live on someone else's servers.

Summaries run on a bundled local model or the cloud LLM of your choice, including your existing Claude Code or Codex subscription. Write your own summarisation prompts, auto-export to Obsidian, push meeting data via webhooks, or query your history through an MCP server. There's a system-wide dictation mode on the same engine: press a hotkey, speak, and the text is on your clipboard.

10 hours of recording free, with no account. After that it's $9 a month, $89 a year, or $189 once for a lifetime licence. macOS 15+ (Apple Silicon) or Windows 10 and 11.
