For me TinkerCAD was a pain-free first contact with simple 3D modeling for printing. Rather self-explaining web-based interface.
Fantastic beginner friendly 3D modeling program. Web-based and allows export to a few different formats. I was looking for one that allows export for free and this is it.

The BEST 3D modeling, CAD tool for beginners and kids. Hands down. Great performance in browser, no installation, powerful yet simple.
TinkerCAD is back online. It was simply bought by AutoDesk.
