I have a business associated with printing. And the vector is still the most convenient program for my business. ( previously used Adobe Illustrator)
Update: now it's not usable as a free app. as I predicted years ago below, they crippled its features and are are trying to cash out. no longer recommended. not promising product either.
Although this is good as a free app for now, there's no doubt that it will be subscription business in near future since it's backed by a venture capitalist. you know how greed they are? they are not a philanthropist.
It’s true LC is a brilliant tool for vector graphics. It’s relatively easy to master and they have some decent tutorials to help you out if you get stuck or bamboozled. However. When it was Vectornator it was FREE and you got access to all the tools and functions with NO restrictions. Then they rebranded to Linearity Curve and that’s where it all fell apart! You now have to pay to get full access! Rather than allow all those people who ALREADY had the Vectornator programme to continue as they were and just charge those who came after, no, they got greedy and ruined it for everyone! Their rebranding meant EVERYONE got clobbered and not a small monthly fee either, an expensive monthly fee. Way out of a lot of peoples budget. I notice recently they have reduced their yearly fee — still outside a lot of hobbyists budget. Please LC, a lot more people would use you and you’d get more positive attitudes from us, if you were more reasonable with your pricing.
I loved Vectornator, but then they rebranded to Curve, and transferred my files to Curve Cloud. They weren't very honest in this move, just said that it was a change of services. But now you can't "Export to SVG" without a subscription, destroying the use I had for the application in the first place. If you're willing to pay for the app, it's got an amazing toolset on iPad; but if you're like me, and can't afford to pay for every little thing then steer clear from relying upon this application, and the untrustworthy company behind it.
I've been using this app since it was called Vectornator. It's really powerful and it's one of the few apps that still believes in the iPad as a professional device. Their cloud, although it's been criticized a lot, is fantastic: I've never had an issue with it! The app has a lot of very powerful features, including the most recent AI Backgrounds, which can compete (and win!) against other much more expensive solutions!
Recently renamed to Curve and forced all art to be moved to their cloud, this makes it unsafe from copywrite infringement.
Vectornator UI is good, the software is fast and lean, the user experience is pleasant as it implements elements native to the macOS system (everything that Adobe cannot do with Illustrator). The export to SVG works, but it doesn't have optimized SVG export and it always comes with fields that have been deselected, reselected and that could be a little smarter.
