VoteGenerator is a free online poll and survey maker built for fast group decisions. Create a poll in under 60 seconds and share it by link, QR code, or website embed. Neither you nor the people responding need an account.

Ranked-choice voting is included on the free plan, which most free poll makers either omit or place behind a paid tier. Voters rank options in order of preference and results are calculated by instant-runoff: the lowest-ranked option is eliminated and its votes redistribute to each voter's next choice, repeating until one option holds a majority. Every round is shown.

Eight poll types are supported: multiple choice (single or multi-select), ranked choice, this-or-that head-to-head comparison, meeting scheduling with multi-select availability, rating scales, RSVP attendance tracking, image polls, and multi-question surveys. Over 100 editable templates cover employee engagement, customer satisfaction, NPS, event feedback, course evaluation, healthcare, and property surveys.

VoteGenerator also runs inside Slack. Install it to your workspace and create polls with a slash command without leaving the channel — results update in the message as people vote. Interactive voting, scheduled recurring polls, and results export are supported. The free plan includes 3 Slack polls; Pro unlocks unlimited polls, anonymous and ranked polls in Slack, and all 12 templates.

Optional Anonymous Mode discards voter names, records no device or location data, and stores dates instead of full timestamps, so responses cannot be re-identified by the order they arrived. Duplicate voting is prevented by browser cookies on all plans; paid plans add PIN codes and single-use access codes.

The free plan allows 3 active polls with 100 responses per month, and polls stay open for up to 30 days. Pro is $19/month for 10,000 responses per month, unlimited polls, CSV export, custom short links, and no branding on embeds. Business is $49/month for 100,000 responses, white-label embedding, and single-use access codes. There are no advertisements on any plan.

Flat per-account pricing, not per user. No per-response overage charges.

VoteGenerator is not a live-presentation tool — it has no word clouds, audience Q&A, or slide-deck integration, so Poll Everywhere and Mentimeter fit that use case better. It is also not a research platform: there is no skip logic, branching, or cross-tabulation.
