What is WeaTeach?

WeaTeach is an online tutoring marketplace for one-on-one video lessons. Every tutor is assessed on a recorded speaking and teaching task before their profile goes live, and the result is shown publicly as a medal level (master, gold, silver, bronze) that also caps the hourly price they are allowed to charge, so a student can see what a price is based on.

Students browse tutors by subject - English, IELTS and business English, mathematics, French, German, programming and music - and filter by price, assessed level, specialty, spoken language or who is online right now. A trial pass buys four 25-minute lessons with four different tutors. Students who would rather not search can instead describe a problem - homework, translation, proofreading, exam or interview preparation - and have it sent to matching tutors, who answer directly.

Lessons run in a browser-based classroom with video, screen sharing, a whiteboard and recording, so there is nothing to install. The interface is available in 15 languages.
