Zync

Zync is a free, open-source SSH workspace for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It’s for people who live in terminals and SSH all day and don’t want their host keys and passwords sitting in someone else’s cloud.

You get local terminals, SSH sessions, SFTP, visual tunnels, snippets, and host management in one native desktop app. No account required for core use. No host limits. Credentials stay in an on-device vault you unlock with your own passphrase, not a vendor vault you rent monthly.

Zync also comes with Public URL. Public URLs (Beta) let you expose a local port over HTTPS when you need a public link. This feature requires a Zync account (GitHub or Google) and is separate from the vault, SSH tunnels, and Google Drive backup.

Optional Google Drive backup exists if you want an off-machine copy. Files are encrypted on your machine before upload; it’s a backup you choose, not always-on sync and not “trust us with the keys.”

Zync is MIT-licensed and built with Rust and Tauri. If you’ve outgrown putting everything in a paid cloud SSH client, or you’re tired of juggling Terminal, an SFTP app, and a tunnel tool, this is meant to be that one workspace — still yours, still local.
