I've used Cloud9 extensively over the past few years for various open source projects. It's been completely reliable and substantially faster than similar services I've tried. As a bonus, it feels like Sublime Text but on the web, the only thing it's missing is a minimap.

All in all, this is one great service especially for open-source stuff.

Was great until Amazon bought it. Now it's glitchy, has less features, is much harder to set up, doesn't get updates, and you have to trust amazon with your data. There is no reason at all to start using this software. Seek alternatives.

The best of all Cloud IDE, but:

  1. Never mentioned whether traffic gonna be free or as AWS's standard egress and ingress pricing
  2. Never know when your pull some deep learning data, and it is no on AWS environment, and cost you dozen to hundred, if you processing too many data

It was awesome untill Amazon bought it. Yes, c9.io redirects to aws.amazon.com/cloud9/. Now it is called AWS Cloud9
