ConEmu is the best Windows terminal.
There is other "alternative" but in reality it is the same ConEmu with some guy modifications made public, a good-looking theme and a bunch of scripts to please everyone needs. Like Superconsole, Cmder and other out there. In another word is another distro like the infinites debian/ubuntu clones with a nice wallpaper and high res icons.
Sorry I'm not a fan of cmder or any other "ConEmu with scripts fit all needs".
Grab ConEmu and add the shell you need. Basically 3 steps.
Fantastic terminal, probably the best I have ever used on windows.... when it works. Unfortunately there are a ton of bugs with scrolling buffer and window resizing that practically renders it unusable for certain tasks and it doesnt seem like developers are trying to fix these well known faults.
Great, customizable terminal emulator. My only big gripe is that the gui is kind of ugly, and I can't seem to get rid of the tiny line on the top to make it windowless.
It looks great, lets you use all different terminals (PowerShell, CMD, etc.) in one window. Very customizable.
Split or single screen highly customizable terminal emulator with any number of terminals of your choice + startup / default Task option so all the terminals will open upon program startup. Grids also doesn't have to be symmetrical, e.g. you may have 1 wide terminal at top and 1,2,3,4 or any number of terminals at the bottom if you wish.
ConEmu is miles ahead of other terminals, may take some time to configure with all the options, here conemu cygwin clink quakeconsole splitviews and a lot of shortcuts keeps the doctor away
ConEmu is simply the best terminal emulator for Windows. It works great for me, with all kinds of shells and tools. I cannot imagine using Windows without it.
