    Eclipse is a strong contender in the IDE space because of how many languages you can use with it, setting up the debugger is pretty simple once you've through the process several times. It also helps that a lot of distros have Eclipse in their repos, I personally use it from the ChaoticAUR (Garuda Linux's maintained repo, they watch it like a hawk).

    Mainly use this one for C programming language, as I practice code snippets in it. I want to try using it for Python as well at some point!

Very "professional".

Is it secure to accept:

  • invalid/expired and weak (md2/md5 signatures from the 90's) certificates during the installation otherwise it will not be installed?

With Java, allows almost WYSIWYG GUI building with Swing. But, in order to do that, it needs for the 'WindowBuilder' extension to be installed (from within). Also, while some alternatives exist for doing this, Eclipse is still a robust way to accomplish. Finally, one advantage which Eclipse has over the competition in Java is, that Eclipse still allows Android development.

Best environment I've ever used for C/C++ development. Nothing else comes close. Being able to navigate around the code to goto a variable definition, or search for references of a method make it superior.

Eclipse is the IDE that you can write program almost every platform like android, Arm based stm32fxxx series microcontroller or the java. Beside there is tons of documents about ide. So go for it.
