Wow, this is really nice for my general-use workstation, which is littered with desktop icons. It was quick to set up, and just took a little time to sort through all the stuff I had accumulated over the last three years.
Until now I'm happy with Rainmeter, which is free and OpenSource and do way more than Fence
I've been using it for years. Does exactly what is expected. Must have for productive work!
Unstable! Ur pc become a crap right after the install (I have an 6800k@4ghz 64gb ddr4 3090 rtx ) and its lag do the same behavior on my two other pc .... just avoid it use portals desktop organization instead
Excellent idea, however the implementation is lacking. It does not support two-finger scrolling for all touchpads. This has been a problem for the last 6 years (according to stardock forum posts) and is still unsolved.
Good for organizing your desktop icons and, most importantly, keeping them organized. Unfortunately, Fences suffers from poor performance (low frame rate) even on high-end systems. It would be great to get some proper hardware acceleration for dragging, dropping, resizing, and page switching to smooth out the animations. Aside form that minor issue, Fences is super useful.
Like every other Stardock program I've tried, this was half-baked. Great ideas with mostly good implementation, but too many issues, missing too many things, lousy support, and overpriced considering all that. Spent/wasted far too much time on it.
