    I worked through the first step in French which I have some experience with. The flow was nice, definitely liked the grading of my pronunciation. Then I tried Mandarin which I had no experience with. The notes about Pinyin and phonetic structure were very helpful. I felt like I was able to start appreciating tonality, both listening and speaking.

Easily the most effective and fun language learning app I've found. The structure of each lesson makes word association and memory reinforcement a lot stronger than in Duolingo. Some basic travel vocab and phrases aren't in the earliest lessons, but that's fine to me since those are easily looked up.

(Note: I've only studied Japanese with LingoDeer, the quality of other language courses might be different)
