The "permant" wiping even in ten passes does not take longer than just deleting files normally in the Windows Explorer, which seems strange to me. And wiping of a whole drive is simply not possible. I don't trust this software, I'm sorry.
Permadelete is Free, Open Source, and aims to be an amusing way to delete shred files and folders. Somewhat obsolete in providing a choice of how many times you want to overwrite erased files, since that's only useful on hdd not ssd. On ssd, the file is just deleted. It provides a link to the site which explains their method. Many people may want to overwrite an entire disk drive and this program doesn't provide an "easy button" to do so, however, the programs KillDisk and Hardwipe do....

Does not indicate ongoing progress. I took a 33 GB file and had it deleted to test. It should take a long time (I believe 1h, 1h30m), but there simply isn't anything. I don't think it's even deleting safely because it's impossible to be that quick with 3 steps. So I'm going to continue with Eraser anyway.
"Wiping/erasing" of several files from the recycle bin in ten passes did not take longer than deleting via Windows Explorer. So, I think you might be right, that nothing gets deleted safely.
