Powerful markdown tools, might be a better open source alternative for obsidian. Looks like exactly what I need, I will try that for a little while

Tolaria is a clean and powerful tool for managing large markdown-based knowledge bases. Using plain files and Git versioning gives you full control over your documentation, while the offline-first approach and AI integration make it a great fit for developers and technical teams. It’s flexible, fast, and easy to incorporate into existing workflows.

This is a great idea. I have so many md files and it's so difficult to keep track of what each does.

What is Tolaria?

Tolaria is a desktop application for managing markdown knowledge bases. It's used for various purposes such as managing personal knowledge, organizing company documents, and storing OpenClaw/assistants memory and procedures. The software can manage large workspaces with over 10,000 notes.

Tolaria operates on a files-first approach where notes are plain markdown files, ensuring portability and compatibility with any editor. The data is user-owned, not application-owned. Each vault in Tolaria is a git repository, offering full version history and no dependency on Tolaria servers. The software works offline and doesn't require accounts, subscriptions, or cloud dependencies.

As an open-source software, Tolaria is built for sharing. The notes are markdown files with YAML frontmatter, compatible with standard tools. Tolaria's types are navigation aids, not enforcement mechanisms. The software supports AI but doesn't depend on it. It's designed for power-users who prefer keyboard usage. The Editor and the Command Palette are designed based on this principle. Tolaria's features are developed based on real use.
