What is Voxtyper?
Voxtyper is a Chrome and Firefox browser extension for dictation with automatic punctuation and capitalization, built on a state-of-the-art speech-to-text engine. Press Ctrl+Space in any web text field, speak, and press again - your words appear where you were typing, with the punctuation and capitals added for you. No copy-paste, no separate window, no waiting.
Accuracy comes first. The speech-to-text engine was trained on 680,000+ hours of real-world audio across 99 languages, and stays accurate on conversational speech, technical and medical vocabulary, legal language, regional accents, and numbers, dates, and currency. And it types what you actually said - it never paraphrases, rewrites, or "improves" your words; it only adds the punctuation and capitalization the text needs to read right.
It works everywhere you type. Voxtyper is built and tested against the major rich-text editor frameworks (Lexical, ProseMirror, Quill, Slate, CKEditor, Draft.js and more) that power most of the web's text boxes, plus plain text fields and even canvas-based editors like Google Docs - a faster, more accurate alternative to Google Docs voice typing. Ctrl+Space is a toggle, so you can run the whole thing from a single remapped mouse button, one-handed.
Free to use: 20 minutes of dictation a month anonymously, or 60 minutes with a free account - no credit card required. One paid plan unlocks unlimited dictation for $9/month. Your audio is never stored.
