AI Slopfree Software Catalog

A more optimistic homage to the slopware catalog https://alternativeto.net/lists/44427/slopware/, this list is designed to showcase projects, both FOSS and proprietary, which reject contributions from Generative AI LLM slop machines. The most pessimistic thing about this list is how short it is and how so many commonly used software solutions and websites are not included.

There are a lot more projects on this list which I didn't include because they aren't on AlternativeTo (yet). I'll be adding more entries to this site (and removing those who fold to the AI overlords) on a regular basis. I'm including references, which are all first-hand declarations from the development teams for each entry to ensure items aren't included based on hearsay or conjecture.

Overall, it's hard to restrict LLM contributions, since nothing stops a vibecoder from copying and pasting LLM generated nonsense into a pull request, but this list shows those who are making an effort to discourage the practise.

Hi,

Nice work on the list!

I have one nit-pick – I would argue that Forgejo belongs more to the section “Code and App Repositories”, the difference being that Forgejo is self-hosted (Codeberg runs on Forgejo). Of course, one app can be added to multiple sections as well.

The list returned an error when I attempted to post forgejo into both categories so I left it in Development since it is a tool you can use to build a code repo around whereas codeberg is a repo built with it.

I saw your updates too: seeing nextcloud, tor-browser, and simplex in your updated list hit hard. :(
