Arch is my absolute favorite OS. IMO it's the endgame OS for any techy who cares about privacy and security. There are other good distros out there, but this one is (IMO) the best for so many reasons. And it's not even that hard to install these days, if you're using archinstall.

CachyOS, which has Arch Linux as its base system, is the rave now. They say it's easier to install, more pre-configured, and CachyOS averages around 5% faster overall performance.

ah yes. the ORIGINAL femboy distro.

hence, like, i'd recommend using arch if you have a decent amount of knowledge of linux. do NOT use it as your first distro or recommend it to a newbie. if they love arch but are a newbie, make them try out EndeavourOS or CachyOS

Once it's installed, it's fine! Software updates are faster than Fedora or Debian. There's a smaller selection, but community packages (AUR) and Flatpak make up for it. The Danctnix port to ARM (mostly for Pine64) is solid. I don't miss the old days of setting everything up by hand, though.

It is leightweight and very configurable and you can customize it to your likeing.

What is Arch Linux?

Arch Linux is an independently developed, x86_64 optimized GNU/Linux distribution targeted at competent Linux users. It uses pacman, its home-grown package manager, to provide updates to the latest software applications with full dependency tracking. Operating on a rolling release system, Arch can be installed from a CD image or via an FTP server. The default install provides a solid base that enables users to create a custom installation. In addition, the Arch Build System (ABS) provides a way to easily build new packages, modify the configuration of stock packages, and share these packages with other users via the Arch Linux user repository.
