I like the direction Dia is taking. Instead of adding AI just for the sake of it, the browser tries to understand what I'm actually working on and use that context to help. If the AI feels reliable without getting in the way, I can see Dia becoming a very interesting alternative to traditional browsers.
While other web browsers are grafting chatbots onto the interface, Dia is more like a chatbot with an embedded web browser. You can use it without the AI features, but that just leaves you with a stripped-down Chromium skin. If you really want to interact with the web via chatbot, this might be your thing, but it isn't mine.
Dia is an AI-powered web browser originally developed by The Browser Company, a New York-based startup also known for the Arc browser (co-founded by Josh Miller (CEO) and Hursh Agrawal (CTO)). Atlassian acquired The Browser Company in September 2025 for $610 million.
