Hands down the best gallery app on android, especally after simple gallery sold out to a shady ads company. Fossify is the goodwill succesor to what simple gallery should of stood for
Fossify Gallery is free, open source, lightweight and a great alternative to any proprietary gallery apps, with the only downside being its roughness.
No ads. Come on really? I'm in.
A basic on-device gallery app that lets you view, browse, organize and delete your photos entirely on your own phone, and open them in other apps for sharing. Works as a file picker too, when you're already in another app and want to load a photo.
Mostly replaces the offline use cases for Google Photos.
The best simple photo gallery and editor there is as far as I know because it does exactly those things well. Plenty of options to configure the gallery and the right amount of photo editing options, of which crop is my most used one. The only downside is that they accept crypto“currencies” as donations which gives credence to pyramid schemes. Otherwise I'd have donated.
As simple gallery is basically gone and sold, this one is the best current open source alternative.
