Great front end to ffMpeg, allowing both experienced and less experienced video editors to build better export pipelines faster.
Feels like there's too many paid updates (I've paid for two out of the four which have happened since I first bought iFFmpeg six years ago) but the original price of entry and even the updates are inexpensive. What I dislike about the paid updates is not so much the money, as the endless hassle of buying again and relicensing again the application.
To reduce application housekeeping and maintenance, I'd suggest following my lead and buying and then updating every two or three versions. Heck I'd be happy to pay the creator more for a perpetual license with updates forever.
The main engine of ffWorks is the version of ffMpeg installed. If you keep that up-to-date, most new encoding functionality will come your way automatically.
I mean... This is a paid closed-source GUI for the free open-source FFmpeg. Yes, it looks pretty, maybe it is the most user-friendly GUI out there. I just don't get the philosophy of making this paid (as I am not a Mac user).

Arguably the best of the video converters.
Easy to use and has a huge range of features. A manual would be helpful, though. The tutorials on the website gives only a small overview of what is really possible.
