It's easy to use. It detects everything (unlike others) and lets you to decide what to do with it. It's an application firewall everyone should have. I'm pretty sure developers deserve a prize, love, hugs and all the rest stuff. Great job!
I'm using Arch Linux and I really enjoyed using it whilst it worked but I constantly have problems with getting it to start once a new Arch update rolls in. Ubuntu and Red Hat are well supported however.
If some rolling distro tends to update system components all the time (which breaks the software which depends on it) without rebuilding/providing updated software packages - to me this is an issue of a distro / package maintainers, and not the software's issue.
Imagine yourself as a developer who has built some software and distributes its source code over GitHub. You will surely don't want to hear that your software doesn't work in distro A or distro B, just because someone from those distros didn't care to properly maintain it, as other distro components are moving ahead with the time
My specific OS is Manjaro. I am using it successfully now, however I created a fresh install of Manjaro and Opensnitch was the first application I installed after that. I was dubious the GUI (which is what I had the problems with) would start with each new application install so created a system image each time. I seem to be OK with it now. It is an essential application in my view so am grateful to the developers. I feel naked without it.

Still a little young but looks promising and works well so far, development has been continued by Gustavo Iñiguez Goia (it seems I can't post a link so see their fork of the original on GitHub)
