I don't like the version 2.x, but Spybot is always the best anti-spyware IMO, so I use the portable version 1.6.2 in my USB stick, with updated signatures of course :)
It's easy, fast and lightweight.
To be honest, this software isn't as good as what it used to be. I used to love this software as much as Ad-Aware SE, but since then with Ad-aware, it came crashing down, and we were left with crappy anti-spyware choices until more anti-viruses integrate anti-spyware. As of today, it's no longer the great software it used to be of when it was the year of 2002-2007. Fortunately, there are better options such as MalwareBytes, SUPERAntiSpyware or even Windows Defender by our side.

After running it, I had to log in to all the sites again because it deleted all the cookies. It didn't find anything harmful.
I like spybot, it does its job!!
2.9.85.5 February 28, 2023 Latest version (current Free Edition) 2026 - could be a coincidence, but after I installed SpyBot, my disk cloning started running smoothly. (huge relief to me) I don't notice an issue with cookies that I've whitelisted, but location setting may be shut off.
Came on my PC after it went to the mend. It's a great program. Doesn't use much CPU either. My only problem with it is it won't scan unless you open up the program and press scan, there's no automatic scanning feature. Also it's not updated as often as I'd like. Pretty good though.
Finally common sense has caught SSD: boot media. One cannot clean an infected OS from within the infected OS.
