It has open-source version which is totally free and self-hosted available. It could be an alternative to Jira. Secondly, it's a Scrum tool that implements scrum precisely. There are three main modules which are product, sprint, and test. The wiki library is powerful, so well as Report, you could get your resource details like hours, efforts of your developers, and workflow which is something like in Jira. We really love the three modules in zentao which clearly separate PO, dev, and testers that make them work in their own module but could collaborate at the same time.
Limited translation support, which makes it challenging to use for non-Chinese speakers. Heavily focused on software development.
Generally speaking, Zentao is very convenient to use, Our company is using it together which makes our team more convenient in software development. Although it has some small shortcomings. But many teams we know are using it. It's a very popular product.

ZenTao is quite an inclusive Scrum tool. It is perfect for agile teams. You can manage product backlog items, plans, releases, and test cases, and track bugs. It also has a notification feature that you can update the status of your bugs and task. Generally speaking, it is very handy.
VERY VERY ALL-INCLUSIVE. As it is been said, ZenTao is a tool for application lifecycle management, covering the management from the start to the end. Our team finds the Story, Bug, Task, and Test Case in ZenTao are quite useful as they are all connected with each other. It does help improve the performance and team communication on tasks.
The document sharing feature needs to be optimized, although you can integrate LibreOffice and Collabora Office in ZenTao.
My overall experience is excellent, it is the best project management software ever. I have used a few others in the past, but there is none that can compete with zentao. It is very flexible and fitted really well with agile development work. Whether you are using kanban or standard sprint planning work flow, it supports all of those. It is extremely useful to do project planning and creating stories, they will be saved in backlogs and you can access them with weight, estimate and priority. Great report tool to help you analyse the project completion and nice burn down chart as well. To help the team retrospectively go back and review.
The most I like about ZenTao is that where my Company owner is using this software and don’t have any stress because of this software to Handle everything in front of him.
