Reviewed LosslessCut★★★★★Lossless Cut is my new favorite FOSS lightweight video editor for at least 4 reasons. 1.Fast view Speed using hotkeys J & L 2.Fast-Copy method- most video editors will make you encode which is a lot slower 3.It retains timestamps.. most don't 4.The Kanban style segment listing is easy, visually pleasant, and offers a lot of flexibility I'm basically do intermittent cropping. On the right hand side, I choose merge cuts at the top, and use the split segment symbol at the bottom ][. Split...
Reviewed Free Video Flip and Rotate★Bundleware warning aside, it didn't work. I recommend: Free Video Rotator
Reviewed EpicPencil★★★★★Works nicely. Can save via Screenshot, but doesn't save Sessions.
Reviewed Free Video Rotator★★★★★The only fast-copy style free video rotator desktop app I could find. Lightweight and works great! Saves lots of time vs encoding. Thanks to the author :-)
Reviewed Avidemux★★★★★Avidemux and LosslessCut are 2 great FOSS video editting programs that I use for speed and lightness. They will both clip videos using copy/ remuxing quickly vs having to do slow encoding. Avidemux's 38mb intallation is a lot lighter than Davinci's 3gb+. Avidemux can encode videos toward a specified target file size, in case you want to stay under 500mb, etc. You can also compress with H.264 encoding, and adjusting CRF(Constant Rate Factor) Avidemux has numerous filters available including a...
Commented on VidShrinkLooks great, but it's having installation issues on my Win 10.
Commented on Gihosoft Free Video CutterIf you're looking for simple beginning and ending fast cropping and don't mind a little fuddling with viewing vs being able to speed thru the vid, Gihosoft may be the way to go. If you want multiple cropping points, Avidemux or Lossless Cut may be the next choice. Lossless Cut if you want speed viewing and/or fast Rotate, and Avidemux if you want more filters.
Reviewed Skales★★★As a local-first desktop AI agent, Skales needs a model provider before it becomes useful. For free use, that means either running a fairly heavyweight local model through something like Ollama—which I’m not particularly fond of—or creating and configuring API keys for third-party cloud providers and their free tiers. Skales does offer its own no-key cloud option, Skales IQ, but I didn’t find that trial option surfaced clearly or quickly during setup.
Commented on SEPIA Framework- Reviewed Java★★
I replaced Oracle Java with Liberica JDK Lite, and I love not seeing that coffee cup getting an IV anymore.

Commented on stashd.aiI get a blank window when I open it on Win 10.
- Commented on Tailscale
Tailscale is only an overlay network between devices in your tailnet. Ordinary browsing still goes out through your normal Internet connection.
Commented on AltarSoft Sticky Notes ManagerOnly has color options, not skin or print backgrounds. Homepage is in disarray. Here's a direct download [http://www.altarsoft.com/downloads/StickyNotesManager.exe](http://www.altarsoft.com/downloads/StickyNotesManager.exe)
Commented on StickiesHere's a link to view the skins which are basically border-style. No florals. https://www.zhornsoftware.co.uk/stickies/skins.pl

Commented on DesktopNoteOKI was looking for something decorative, so I didn't give this a true test. Things I noticed: Unique ability to switch between Notepad/ Wordpad function aside from the sticky. Sticky color /font can be changed and there's a shadow theme, but not a true skin or imagery ability.
Commented on 7 Sticky NotesI'm having crash issues with 7 Sticky on Win 10, but it may just be my system. Last release 2013. Nonfunctional homepage download. Here is a site: https://7-sticky-notes.findmysoft.com/download/ .Has a portable version, too.
Reviewed Simple Sticky Notes★Compatibility/crash problem Win 10. I double click to start a note and the program disappears. Yet, the latest Simple Sticky Notes release is version 6.9, updated February 22, 2026—so it is not abandoned or limited to an old programming framework.
Reviewed PNotes★★★★Without being a Sticky Note Connoisseur, unless you make an effort to download supported skins, you are getting another yellow sticky with no color options. However, from a structural perspective, this seems well-crafted.
Reviewed BetterStickies★★★★Nice, but it lacks an intuitive way to move it around and shut off the bulky bottom menu on the note. Each note seems to need a new setup vs following previous setup.
Reviewed Mercury Browser★★★Telemetry and reporting disabled. Debugging / diagnostic features disabled. Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) enabled. Pocket, “new tab” recommendations, and suggested content disabled. Security/privacy patches from other hardening forks. 8–20% speed boost over standard Firefox Telemetry, crash reporting, and data submission fully disabled by default Unsigned extension support. Mercury’s primary selling point is performance + convenience, not anonymity
Reviewed OnionCat★★★OnionCat's setup takes a bit of doing. Tor hidden service setup You configure Tor to run a hidden service (usually forwarding a local port like 127.0.0.1:8060). Tor creates a hostname file, e.g. /var/lib/tor/hidden_service/hostname, containing something like g6adq2w15j1eakzr.onion. OnionCat creates a virtual network interface OnionCat (ocat) opens a TUN (layer‑3) or TAP (layer‑2) device on your OS. It assigns an IPv6 address to that interface, derived deterministically from your .onion...
Commented on Beaker browserFor everyday private browsing (blocking trackers, fingerprinting resistance, isolating sessions), Beaker doesn’t give you “more privacy” than a standard Chromium browser, and it lacks the dedicated privacy features of browsers built for that purpose.
